01Information we process

EMT Field Trainer is an independent educational app for practicing simulated EMT scenarios. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the app or contact support.

  • Training activity: the scenarios you select, your typed responses, the training transcript, progress, completion status, scores, and timestamps are sent to and stored on the app’s server.
  • Technical identifiers: each training attempt has a randomly generated identifier and an access token used to protect access to that attempt.
  • Connection information: the server processes your IP address to limit excessive requests. Hosting services may process technical request information to deliver and secure the service.
  • Support messages: if you email us, we receive your email address and the message, attachments, and other information you choose to provide.

The app does not require an account, name, or email address to use its training scenarios. Training activity is not associated with an app account, but information you type could identify you.

02How information is used

Training information is used to run scenarios, evaluate responses, provide feedback, and maintain progress during an attempt. Technical information helps protect the service and troubleshoot problems. Support messages are used to respond to questions, investigate issues, and handle privacy requests.

Training data is used to provide and improve app functionality. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell it.

03Service providers and sharing

Information is processed through the infrastructure needed to operate the app, including its server and hosting services. Messages sent to support are processed by our email provider, Gmail. These providers process information as part of delivering their services.

We do not include advertising or cross-app tracking tools in the app. Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law.

04Retention and security

Training attempts are subject to a configurable inactivity retention period, which defaults to 90 days after their last update. Expired attempts are removed during cleanup when a new training attempt begins; deletion may therefore occur after that period rather than at an exact deadline.

Support correspondence may be retained while needed to handle your request and follow-up. You can contact us to request deletion of that correspondence.

Production app connections use HTTPS. Access to individual training attempts is protected by an attempt-specific token, and the server stores a hash of that token. No method of transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security.

05Cookies and device permissions

The browser-based trainer uses a necessary, attempt-specific cookie to authorize access to a training attempt. It is configured to expire after eight hours. The mobile app uses an attempt access token for the same purpose.

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, or contacts. This privacy policy page does not set its own cookies or include analytics scripts.

06Your choices and deletion requests

You can stop using the app at any time. To ask a privacy question or request deletion of training information or support messages, email emtfieldtrainer.support@gmail.com.

Include the scenario name, approximate date and time, and an attempt identifier if you have it. Because the app does not use accounts, we may need additional information to locate the relevant attempt and verify the request. Please do not send access tokens or real patient information.

Uninstalling the app does not by itself delete training attempts already stored on the server.

07Use simulated information only

Do not enter real patient names, medical records, protected health information, or other sensitive personal information into training responses or support messages. Scenarios are for education and are not intended for documenting actual patient care.

08Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the app or its information practices change. The latest version will appear on this page with an updated date.
